Go-live success depends more on organizational readiness than on picking modules. Configuring early on fuzzy data and processes only front-loads cost.
1) Put processes on paper
For each core area (sales, purchase, inventory, finance, HR) answer: where does work start? who approves? what is the final output? If answers conflict, you need organizational alignment before software.
2) Data ownership and quality
- Customer/vendor lists with an update owner
- Product catalog and consistent units of measure
- Opening balances and cutover rules
- History policy: what migrates vs what stays archived
3) Critical integrations
Before day one, decide which connections “must work” and which are phase two: legacy accounting, e-commerce, SMS, payment gateway, side warehouse. For each, name a technical owner and acceptance criteria.
4) Key team and UAT
- Name key users per department
- Define real test scenarios (not pretty demos)
- Book training and week-one support capacity
- Set an escalation path for bugs and open decisions
What this checklist unlocks
With this readiness, implementation is shorter, risk is lower and meeting debates shrink. Ravitatech can run a half-day workshop to complete this checklist with your team so phase one starts with clarity.
